Each of them is very small, but together they can form sand castles and even mighty sand dunes.<\/p>\n<p>Grains of sound are exactly the same. They are tiny particles of sound that, when combined together, can create fantastic new shapes and structures.<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s often difficult for us to hear individual grains on their own, but we hear them when they are found in groups. We call these groups of sound grains: &lsquo;granular clouds&rsquo;.<\/p>\n<p>Just like rainclouds these hover in the air and can be any shape.<\/p>\n<h2>Where can we find Grains of Sound and Granular Clouds?<\/h2>\n<p>Sound grains and larger granular clouds are found in nature, they are often crackly sounds, but more often than not they are created by people out of recorded sounds.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"wrapper-audio\">\n<h2 class=\"audio-title\">Granular Leaves Sound<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ears2.eu\/pt-pt\/encyclopediaptpt\/sound-card\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Sound cards are used in the Compose with Sounds software. They are sound files with an accompanying image.\" class=\"encyclopedia\">sound card<\/a> of &lsquo;Dry Leaves Blowing&rsquo; from the &lsquo;External&rsquo; soundcard pack has been transposed up to create a granular cloud.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>(Some people make their own grains and build entire pieces from a process called&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ears2.eu\/pt-pt\/encyclopediaptpt\/granular-synthesis\" target=\"_self\" title=\"A method by which sounds are broken into tiny&nbsp;Grains and then reassembled and reorganised to form other sounds.\" class=\"encyclopedia\">Granular Synthesis<\/a>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Grains of Sound Imagine the grains of sand on a beach.
