The higher the amplitude of a sound wave, the louder it is. The amplitude relates to the amount of displacement that the sound wave vibration exerts. Take care with sounds that have a high amplitude, loud sounds can damage your ears PERMANENTLY!\" class=\"encyclopedia\">amplitude<\/a> of another sound. When done in the sub-audio range by, for example a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ears2.eu\/pt-pt\/encyclopediaptpt\/lfo-low-frequency-oscillator\" target=\"_self\" title=\"A sound wave that has a low frequency (usually below the range of human hearing) but which can be used to manipulate sound within the range of human hearing. LFO&rsquo;s are used in the process called&nbsp;Amplitude Modulation (AM).\" class=\"encyclopedia\">LFO (Low Frequency Oscillator)<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ears2.eu\/pt-pt\/encyclopediaptpt\/sine-wave\" target=\"_self\" title=\"The purest of sounds, looking like a sequence of hills and troughs, the sine wave (or sinusoid) creates the sound of a single frequency with no harmonics or interference. &nbsp; Other basic types of wave with a simple formulaic harmonic structure, yet more complex quality, include the triangle, sawtooth and square waves.\" class=\"encyclopedia\">sine wave<\/a>, the result is a <a href=\"https:\/\/ears2.eu\/pt-pt\/encyclopediaptpt\/tremolo-2\" target=\"_self\" title=\"A regular change in&nbsp;Amplitude&nbsp;that can be applied to any sound. This creates a wobbling effect similar to&nbsp;Flanging. NOT to be confused with&nbsp;Vibrato.\" class=\"encyclopedia\">tremolo<\/a>.
